Hey Guys! Not a bad Wednesday that we had so lets continue the streak and dive into this Thursday, 4 Game Slate! See who stands out and who we should lock in!
Fantasy Basketball Lock Plays: Point Guard
Kyrie Irving may be just as frustrating of a player to roster for Fantasy Basketball, just like Jabari Parker. On Wednesday, Parker dropped 41.25 fantasy points giving me the confidence to roster Kyrie Irving on this small slate. That’s not the only reason though.
Thee Boston Celtics do face the Phoenix Suns which is very appealing, especially against the point guard position. The Suns are giving up 24 points, 9 assist, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals to the position which means Irving could be in store for a double double type of night.
He is averaging 19 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assist on the season already. In Irving’s last five games, he has scored 22.75, 47.75, 50.25, 32.5, and 53.75 and should continue his dominant streak against the Phoenix Suns.
Fantasy Basketball Lock Plays: Shooting Guard
Staying in the same game but on the other end of the court, Devin Booker has a solid match-up. Boston allows shooting guards about 21 points, 4 assists and 7 rebounds. Not as solid of a match-up as Kyrie Irving but it is there.
The downside to this match-up is that the Phoenix Suns rank 27th in possessions per game with 102 while the Boston Celtics rank 23rd with 102 also, making this a game where it could possibly be low scoring.
Booker does average 25 points, 6 assist, and 4 rebounds a game and on a team that highly depends on him where as Kyrie Irving is in a lineup with multiple scorers and guys who could take over.
Fantasy Basketball Lock Plays: Small Forward
Look, I’m trying to find other games to lock in but this Boston and Phoenix game is looking mighty stackable! The Phoenix Suns struggle with just about every position it seems so Jayson Tatum is in a prime spot also.
Averaging 15 points, 7 rebounds, and around 2 assist per game, Tatum is also in double double territory tonight. The Phoenix Suns allow Small Forwards to get around 24 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assist per game.
The downside to this game is that it is the lowest points total on the slate which could cause some to be skeptic to lock in any players from this game when you have the likes of the Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets, and the Oklahoma City Thunder on the slate.
Fantasy Basketball Lock Plays: Power Forward
Finally a different game to cover! Tobias Harris rarely fails me and he probably won’t start tonight. Averaging 21 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 assist per game, Harris is coming off a nice streak of performances.
In the last five games, he has scored 37.25, 24.5, 41, 33.25, and 42.50 fantasy points. The Portland Trailblazers are giving up 24 points, 12 rebounds, and 4 assist to the power forward position.
The Clippers rank 11th in possessions with 106 per game while the Trailblazers rank 16th with 105 per game. Also this game is the second highest point total of the night with 225 points between the two teams.
Fantasy Basketball Lock Plays: Center
You can be like me and stack the Boston Celtics because Al Horford is in a prime spot also against the Phoenix Suns. The Suns are giving up 26 points, 16 rebounds, and 3 blocks to Centers already this season, another double double potential play.
The downside once again is the points total and pace of the two teams as they are pretty low. Al Horford does go up against DeAndre Ayton which should be an entertaining match-up. Horford is averaging on the season, 12 points, 6 rebounds and around 2 blocks a game which isn’t the prettiest stat line but it’s the Phoenix Suns.
In his last five starts, he has scored 14, 25.75, 38.75, 27.5, and 28 fantasy points. We should see Horford score above 30 fantasy points but we could also see him finally break 40 fantasy points tonight.
We already know what to expect with the Golden State Warriors with Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson. Also with the Houston Rockets, we know what James Harden is capable of on any night and with the Milwaukee Bucks, we know The Greek Freak will be dominant also. I’m not saying they are lock plays but on a very small slate, they could be chalky and we need the upper hand going in to any contest.
